Congratulations!! | Senior 2020

2020 has certainly proven to be a year to remember – especially so for the graduating Seniors. Rather than celebrating the completion of their high school years with get togethers, awards banquets, proms and graduation parties, they woke up to a reality of a very kind in the form of a stay-at-home order.  Though this wasn’t what anyone had in mind for this season of life, there are those who can look into the unforeseen change with a smile on their face and a graceful spirit, Meghan is one of those beautiful souls!

We could not have chosen a better way to come out of quarantine than with  capturing her Senior session!  As expected with much of the state still under orders to remain closed, choosing a location for her session wasn’t the easiest task.  We had a couple of ideas in mind and tossed out a few thoughts to Meghan’s Mom, and when it was all said and done we decided Manassas Battlefield would be our best option.  I’m SO GLAD we chose this location!  We’ve photographed there lots of times before and it’s always been a favorite, though arriving for her session and finding the fields of sweet little flowers in bloom made my heart so happy!  Meghan looked beautiful and the precious flowers on her flowing blue shirt found themselves right at home amidst backdrop of the field! Perfection!!

I LOVE that her sweet Mom, Jen,  joined us for her session! Having parents there is one of my favorite aspects of capturing this season of life – it’s a time to create fun memories – simply enjoying the laughter & lightheartedness of the time shared. We certainly had plenty of those moments and when we got together to view her gallery we were laughing again at the recollection of moment … ah … makes my heart happy!

Meghan has much to celebrate in her student career, including graduating a Summa Cum Laude Scholar! She wore her cap & gown beautifully over a white dress and again looked like the scene was created for this moment. We wrapped up our evening with some portraits on the bridge and added in her adorable burlap 2020 banner for fun!

She will be attending Virginia Tech in the Fall and we’re excited to see where life’s adventures take her! Wishing her all the very best!!!
